Few people know Disney quite like Danielle Matso. Between dozens of Walt Disney World vacations, sailing with Disney Cruise Line, and her time as a Disney Cast Member, she's experienced the magic from nearly every angle. Today, Danielle is taking us inside one of Magic Kingdom's most sought-after dining reservations, Cinderella's Royal Table, to help you decide whether this fairytale experience belongs on your family's next Disney vacation.
Have you ever walked into Magic Kingdom, gazed up at Cinderella Castle, and wondered what it would be like to step inside? At Cinderella's Royal Table, you can do more than take a peek. You can sit down to a meal fit for royalty, with a few royal visitors along the way.
Located inside the castle, Cinderella's Royal Table is a Signature Dining restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The experience begins in the Grand Hall, where Cinderella welcomes guests and poses for photos. Then, with the ring of a bell, a host invites your party to climb the spiral staircase to the second-floor dining room.
Upstairs, sunlight streams through stained-glass windows overlooking Fantasyland, creating the perfect storybook setting. Once you're settled at your table in the circular dining room, the royal visits begin. The princess lineup may vary, but during our visit we met Aurora, Merida, and Jasmine in addition to Cinderella. Each princess visits your table, giving guests time for photos, autographs, and conversation without waiting in separate character lines.
A Dining Experience Worthy of Royalty
All meals at Cinderella's Royal Table are prix fixe, meaning each guest pays a set price for their meal. Breakfast includes a selection of pastries to start along with an entrée of your choice. Lunch and dinner feature an appetizer, entrée, and dessert.
As you might expect from a Signature Dining location, the menu offers a more elevated experience than the typical theme park meal. While breakfast is generally the most affordable option, lunch and dinner share similar menus and pricing.
Choosing the Best Time to Visit
The best reservation time depends on your family's vacation style.
An early breakfast reservation provides a magical start to the day and can put you right in the heart of Magic Kingdom before the crowds build. Lunch offers a welcome break from the Florida heat and gives everyone a chance to recharge before heading back into the attractions.
Dinner comes with an extra consideration: fireworks.
Because the area surrounding Cinderella Castle is restricted during Magic Kingdom's nighttime spectacular, leaving the restaurant can sometimes be more challenging if your reservation overlaps with the show. If watching the fireworks from the hub or Main Street, U.S.A. is a priority, consider booking dinner at least two hours before showtime.
That said, dining inside the castle while fireworks illuminate the night sky outside the windows is a unique experience all its own.
Don't Forget About Special Event Nights
When planning your reservation, be sure to check Magic Kingdom's event calendar. On select evenings, special-ticketed events such as Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party cause the park to close earlier for daytime guests.
If you're booking a later dining reservation on one of these nights, you'll need appropriate admission to remain in the park after regular operating hours.
Is Cinderella's Royal Table Worth the Splurge?
This is one of the most common questions I receive from Disney travelers.
My advice is to consider the entire experience rather than focusing solely on the meal itself. Character dining experiences command a premium price, but they also provide significant value through personalized interactions and time savings. Meeting several princesses at one meal eliminates the need to wait in multiple character lines throughout your day.
For families with princess fans, the opportunity to dine inside Cinderella Castle while meeting beloved characters often becomes one of the most memorable moments of the entire vacation.
For some travelers, Cinderella's Royal Table is simply a meal. For others, it's the realization of a dream that's been years in the making. When you combine the iconic setting, personalized princess interactions, and unforgettable atmosphere, it's easy to understand why this restaurant remains one of Walt Disney World's most sought-after reservations.
If you're wondering whether Cinderella's Royal Table is the right fit for your family's vacation, I'd love to help you decide. Every Disney trip is different, and together we can create the perfect magical experience for your travel style, budget, and wish list.
